Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Recovery Peer Support Worker to join our growing team. This role is instrumental in supporting the daily social and emotional functioning of clients residing in NAM Recovery Housing. Working closely with our interdisciplinary team, the Recovery Peer Support Worker plays a vital role in delivering holistic and compassionate care.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about recovery, eager to learn, and committed to supporting others through their healing journey. NAM offers a supportive, mentorship-driven environment, guided by our Medical Director, Dr. Harbir Singh Gill.
Key Responsibilities
Motivate and support clients actively engaged in recovery
Provide daily assistance and support within the NAM Recovery Housing program
Collaborate with the NAM interdisciplinary team to deliver holistic, client-centered care
Serve as a reliable point of contact for client advocacy and ongoing recovery needs
Contribute to case management, follow-ups, and other client-centered recovery planning
Participate in program delivery, support groups, and workshops as required
Qualifications & Skills
Lived experience in recovery and a strong personal recovery practice (required)
Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle (required)
Fluency in Punjabi (spoken) (required)
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to take direction and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
Previous education or experience in addiction, mental health, or peer support (an asset)
Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally competent care is a plus

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
Schedule:
7 days a week coverage 2-9 pm or 12-8 pm
